Double double, toil and trouble….

… fire burn, and cauldron bubble….

Procter and Gamble is a large company that makes many products you use every day, such as Bounty paper towels, Crest toothpaste, Tide laundry detergent and even Charmin, the softer toilet paper.

But is Procter and Gamble an agent of Satan?

Amway is another big company. Amway claims to be “a global leader in direct selling, with over three million Independent Business Owners (IBOs) in over 80 countries and territories around the world. No other direct selling company can compare with our longevity, stability, and global reach.”

Now, I had always heard that Amway was an agent of Satan. Or the Mafia. Or somebody, I can’t remember. Anyway, The Internet has this to say:

“It is my opinion that the Amway business is run in a manner that is parallel to that of major organized crime groups, in particular the Mafia. The structure and function of major organized crime groups, generally consisting of associated enterprises engaging in patterns of legal and illegal activity, was the prototype forming the basis for federal and state racketeering legislation that I have been involved in drafting. The same structure and function, with associated enterprises engaging in patterns of legal and illegal activity, is found in the Amway business.”

That’s from a guy named Professor G. Robert Blakey, and I found this quote here.

But now, the results of a long running law suit by Procter and Gamble against Amway and/or Amway employees have been settled in a U.S. District Court — jury trial and all — in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Salt Lake City is, of course, Mormon Headquarters. I always heard the the Mormons were the agents of Mafioso Conspiratorial Satan Worshipers, or something like that. For example, The Internet says this:

In states with a high concentration of Mormon Churches, non-Mormon boys who want to participate in Boy Scout activities often must join the Mormon Church sponsored group. In these areas the Boy Scout troops become important recruiting prospects for the church. Because the Boy Scouts have a “God and Country” award for those performing their duties well, it connects Scouts with a religion, and thus Scout programs become also an important proselytizing and indoctrination tool for the church.

Which of course, brings the Boy Scouts into this. Who might possibly be involved in a conspiracy with the Entertainment Industry:

A Boy Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, etc., etc. He is also respectful of copyrights. Boy Scouts in the Los Angeles area will now be able to earn an activity patch for learning about the evils of downloading pirated movies and music. The patch shows a film reel, a music CD and the international copyright symbol, a “C” enclosed in a circle. The movie industry has developed the curriculum. “Working with the Boy Scouts of Los Angeles, we have a real opportunity to educate a new generation about how movies are made, why they are valuable, and hopefully change attitudes about intellectual property theft,” Dan Glickman, chairman of the Motion Picture Association of America, said in a statement Friday. Scouts will be instructed in the basics of copyright law and learn how to identify five types of copyrighted works and three ways copyrighted materials may be stolen.

… and we all know about the entertainment industry and its conspiracies….

Anyway, the law suit awards 19.25 million bucks to Procter and Gamble, to be paid by four former Amway distributors accused by Procter and Gamble of spreading rumors that the company (P&G) was involved with Satanism in an effort to advance their own business.

These rumors began, according to reports, as early as the 1960s. At that time, the company’s logo was said to be a symbol of Satanism. That logo, depicted above, does not appear on P&G’s site, by the way. I guess one could look at this logo and get that impression. After all, there are thirteen satanists in a coven. And this looks like the man on the moon, and Satanist like to do stuff at night, sometimes in the moonlight.

This is what the company’s web site has to say about the logo:

1850

The Moon and Stars began to appear in the 1850s as the unofficial trademark of Procter & Gamble. Wharf hands used the symbol to distinguish boxes of Star Candles. By the 1860s, the Moon and Stars appeared on all Company products and correspondence. Once a staple of the Company’s product line, candles declined in popularity with the invention of the electric light bulb. The Company discontinued candle manufacturing in the 1920s.

In 1994, it is said that Christian fundamentalists demanded that all “good Christians” boycott all P&G products. The document circulated at that time indicated that the President of P&G had declared his Satanism, and that he was a member of the Church of Satan, on the Phil Donohue show on March 15th of 1994.

I am not able at this time to ascertain if this particular manifesto is the document (or one of the documents) alleged by the plaintiffs in this suit to have been distributed by Amway personnel.

Amway got out of the suit several years ago when they claimed that they had dismissed individuals involved in spreading this rumor. Today’s suit is against individuals who formerly worked for Amway.

    G. Robert Blakey is apparently a real professor of law at Notre Dame:

Don: Yes, and Professor Blakey sends regret that he is unable to contribute to this discussion because he is involved with legal matters that obviate that.

Why on earth would you bring the Mormon Church into this? I know a lot of Mormons, I’ve even learned a lot about their church. They are not in ANY WAY associated with satanic organizations or groups. They worship Christ and they, unlike many other Christian denominations, practice what they preach. Please do research before labeling a religion so horribly.
